For too long, Virginia has put the interests of monopoly utilities ahead of our right to benefit from solar. We have an opportunity to change this on Monday, June 19. Participants from Virginia utilities, the solar industry, and community groups will be meet in Richmond to discuss and develop rules for solar in the state.
This is your opportunity to share your experience and demand policies to expand our right to go solar, ensure fair compensation for solar producers, and make it clear that electric utilities exist to serve us–not the other way around.
Solar Policy Collaborative Workgroup (“Rubin Group”)
Monday, June 19, 1 – 3 p.m.
VCU Academic Learning Commons
1000 Floyd Avenue
Call 888-682-4386; password: SOLAR17, to join via phone.
Last year, this working group (known as the Rubin Group) met behind closed doors and developed several policies that became law. Missing from the group was the most important voice of all: the thousands of Virginia residents and businesses that have already gone or want to go solar. Now is the chance to stake your solar claim and make your voice heard! RSVP below.
Contact us at email@example.com for questions about the event or to get further details. We hope to see you there!
