A group of neighbors in Halifax County Virginia are forming the Halifax County Solar Co-op to go solar together and get a discount. If you’ve ever wanted to go solar, now is your chance! Scroll down to the bottom of this page for directions on how to sign up.
Join us for an info meeting
Our first Informational meeting will be held Sunday November 9th at 2pm at the Halifax Town Hall (70 South Main Street, Halifax, VA 24558)
We’ll cover solar basics and explain how you can participate in the group.
We’d love to get your input on ways that you or your organization might be able to help with the effort. Shoot us an email if you’d like to get involved: firstname.lastname@example.org.
How does the co-op work?
Based on the same principle as buying in bulk, the co-op will go through the process of purchasing solar systems together. The group will select a single contractor to install systems on all of the homes, all participants own their own system and will sign their own contract with the chosen installer.
By going solar as a group, members will save 30% off the cost of a solar system. They’ll also have the support of the co-op throughout the process instead of having to go it alone. This buying group is being sponsored Oak Grove Plantation Bed and Breakfast and welcomes any homeowners and businesses in Halifax County to participate.
